Weather Discussion for Wednesday July 14, 2021

 Normal high/ low temperatures for July12-July19 (high/low)   Redding 98/67, Chico 97/61, Quincy 90/45, Chester 85/46, Susanville 90/51, Grass Valley 88/57, Weaverville 95/50, Mt. Shasta 85/51, Yreka 92/53, Alturas 89/45


This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring. 

The slow cooling trend will continue through Saturday as the high pressure area shifts a little to the east, caused by a low pressure trough approaching Canada (see map below).  Temperatures will near normal by Saturday.  Afternoon south to southwest winds will continue.  

The high will move back a little to west on Sunday.   Sunday through at least the middle of next week the inland areas of Northern California will be 3 to 5 degrees above normal.
