This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

Hot, large, and strong high pressure area is over the western U.S.   Today through Tuesday the inland areas of Northern California will see record or near record temperatures.  Winds will be southerly in the afternoon in the valley and southwest to west at the higher elevations.

Midweek a low pressure area will push into Canada (see map below).  This will weaken the high slightly and push is south.  The north state will see temperatures slowly cool and by the weekend they should be down to 3 to 5 degrees above normal....still hot.
