Strange day yesterday....Rain on the coast and over the northwest corner of the state all day with above normal temperatures in the valley and to the east. The north state continues to be stuck between a low pressure area along the coast and a strong high pressure ridge to the east. Today there will continue to be clouds over the northwest corner of the state with a few showers and sunny and warm weather over the valley and to the east. Gusty southwest to west winds will occur this afternoon. Tuesday the high begins to win and the low will be pushed to the north east. There will be a few clouds near the Oregon border and sunny and warm elsewhere.
Wednesday through at least the early part of next week a strong high pressure ridge will be over the western U.S. (see map below). The inland areas of Northern California will be sunny. Temperatures will be warming and Thursday through Saturday the north end of the valley will be near 110 degrees. Gusty north winds will occur in the valley and surrounding foothills Tuesday night through midday Saturday.
