A very strong high pressure area is over the west coast.  Today through Wednesday the inland areas of Northern California will be sunny with temperatures 20 to 25 degrees above normal.  Winds will be light.

Thursday the high will weaken as a low pressure trough moves into Western Canada (see map below).  While it will be weaker the high will remain along the west coast through the weekend.  Temperatures will cooler but still 8 to 12 degrees above normal.  Gusty north winds are expected late Saturday through Monday.
