This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
The low pressure area that brought a few showers to the north state yesterday has moved east of our area. Today through Friday we will have mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will be above normal and light to moderate north winds will occur today and Thursday.
Late Friday the jetstream will undercut the high pressure ridge that is to our west. This will allow a low pressure trough to form along the west coast (see map below). This trough will send bands of clouds and rain across Northern California Saturday and Sunday with a few lingering showers over the Sierras early Monday. Snow levels start out high but will lower to around 5000 feet Sunday.
Skies clear out Monday afternoon. Tuesday and Wednesday look mostly clear with temperatures a few degrees below normal. Another chance of rain will occur late Wednesday and Thursday.
