This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

Finally we have a low pressure area off the coast.  This system will move slowly eastward across Northern California Sunday and then into Nevada on Monday.  Today we will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with periods of light rain or showers mainly over the higher elevations with only a slight chance in the valley.   Sunday the precipitation will be more widespread and heavier, with possible thunderstorms.  Snow levels will lower to around 4000 feet Sunday.  The precipitation will turn to showers late Sunday and Monday, ending by afternoon.

Tuesday high pressure will begin to build over the west coast and by Thursday we will have a strong high pressure ridge over California (see map below).  Temperatures Wednesday through Saturday will be 12 to 18 degrees above normal.

The high will weaken a little Sunday and Monday but we will still stay dry.

  1. Yay! Too bad looks like the chance for a second round of precipitation has disappeared. Maybe around the first of May.
