This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
High pressure continues just off the west coast. Today through Monday Northern California will be mostly sunny with above normal temperatures. Some areas in the north end of the valley will reach the upper 80s to 90 degrees. Moderate north winds will occur today and Sunday.
Late Monday a weak upper level low pressure area will drop southward out of Western Canada. The low will be over Northern California Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday (see map below). This system will bring a few clouds to the north state with isolated light showers over the foothills and mountains.
Thursday through the weekend high pressure is back along and over the west coast. We will see a return of sunny skies and above normal temperatures. Gusty north winds will occur late Wednesday through midday Friday.
One ray of hope is that the models are now showing at least light precipitation around the 25th to the 27th.
