This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
High pressure will remain along of just off the west coast through Saturday. Northern California will be mostly clear with continued above normal temperatures. Winds will be light.
Saturday a low pressure trough will develop or deepen in the Gulf of Alaska. This trough will move eastward and as it does it will split apart with the southern portion being along the Northern California coast Monday (see map below). The low will move slowly eastward and be east of our area by late Tuesday. Clouds will increase late Sunday. Monday and most of Tuesday the north state will be partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. Snow levels will be 5000 to 6000 feet.
Skies clear out late Tuesday and Wednesday we return to sunny with near normal temperatures.
