This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
The low pressure area shown off the coast on this morning's satellite picture (below) will continue moving southward along the coast and then move into Central and Southern California on Thursday. Today Northern California will be partly cloudy to cloudy with showers. Snow levels will be 1000 to 2000 feet north and 2000 to 3000 feet south. Thursday there will be a few showers over the areas east of the valley with partly sunny skies elsewhere.
Friday and Saturday we will see mostly sunny skies with temperatures a few degrees above normal.
Sunday another cold low pressure trough will move into Northern California (see map below). This system will bring rain to our area Sunday and early Monday. Snow levels will 1500 to 2000 feet north and 3000 to 3500 feet south.
Tuesday looks like a break and then a weak frontal system will bring a chance of more precipitation Wednesday.
