Weather Discussion for Saturday March 27, 2021

Normal high/ low temperatures for March 22-March 29  (high/low) Redding 67/44, Chico 67/42, Quincy 58/30, Chester 52/26, Susanville 55/30, Grass Valley 59/37, Weaverville 61/32, Mt. Shasta 55/31, Yreka 59/31, Alturas 55/25

  
This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring. 

High pressure is still off the coast.  Today and Sunday will be mostly clear with above normal temperatures.  Winds will be light.

Late Sunday and Monday a low pressure area will move through Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.  This system will bring a few clouds to Northern California with a chance of Isolated showers east of the Sierra Cascade Crest.  Temperatures will cool and gusty north winds will move into the area Monday.  

Wednesday through Friday we will be back to sunny skies with daytime temperatures 8 to 12 degrees above normal  Gusty north winds will occur Tuesday through Wednesday afternoon. 

Late Friday and Saturday a low pressure trough we develop off the west coast (see map below).  This could bring a chance of rain to the area Saturday.
