A low pressure trough and frontal system are now over California and moving eastward. Heaviest precipitation this morning is north and east of the valley, and will be turning to showers later this morning. The rest of the north state will see a few showers through the afternoon.
Tuesday and Wednesday will be mostly sunny with near normal temperatures and light winds.
Thursday the next low pressure area will reach the coast (see map below). Rain will spread over the area Thursday turning to showers Friday as the system moves eastward. Snow levels will start out at around 4000 feet north and higher south but will lower to 2000 to 3000 feet in the north Friday.
Saturday will be sunny with normal temperatures. Sunday there will be a few clouds from a storm moving by to the north. Clear skies return Monday and Tuesday.
