The frontal system approaching the coast is beginning to split apart. The southern end will drop southward and then move across Southern California late Tuesday and Wednesday. Northern California will be partly to mostly sunny through Thursday with a few clouds at times from the off shore low. Temperatures will continue a few degrees above normal. Light to moderate south winds will occur in the afternoons today and Thursday.
Friday a low pressure trough and frontal system will be approaching the coast (see map below). This system will bring light rain or showers to Northern California Friday night and early Saturday. Snow levels will be 4000 to 5000 feet. Saturday and Sunday skies will be partly to mostly clear. Another weak frontal system will bring rain to the area Monday and Tuesday.
