This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

A weak low pressure area moved rapidly through Northern California during the night.  There will still be a few showers trough early afternoon over the higher elevations north and east of the valley.  The valley will be partly to mostly sunny today.

Sunday through next week a high pressure ridge will be just off the coast (see map below).   Low pressure areas will ride over the high and then drop southeastward into the Great Basin.  The north state will be mostly clear with a few clouds at times over the northern eastern mountains from the storms bypassing our area.  Temperatures will be a few degrees above normal and periods of gusty north winds are expected.
