This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.
The last blog I said the low off the coast would move slow...but it has pretty much stopped moving over the past 24 hours. There has been lots of rain over the northwest section of the state but not much elsewhere. This system will begin to move eastward later today and it will be east of our area by late Tuesday. Rain will spread across Northern California today and continue through late Tuesday. Snow levels will be 4000 to 5000 feet north and higher south. Gusty south winds are expected today. Wednesday a weak low pressure trough will move across the north state with mostly light precipitation. Snow levels will be 3000 to 4000 feet
Thursday through the start of next week a high pressure ridge will be along the west coast (see map below). Skies will be clear with temperatures warming to above normal by Friday. Periods of gusty north winds will occur.
