Cloudy today with isolated light showers mainly over the mountains. Snow levels will be around 3000 feet. Temperatures will be below normal and winds will be light. Late today a low pressure trough will approach the coast. This a very slow moving system and will still be off the coast Monday (see map below). The system will move east of the state Tuesday. Precipitation will reach the coast range this evening and spread slowly eastward reaching the valley Sunday and then the Sierras late Sunday and Monday. Snow levels will be 3000 to 4000 feet north and higher south. The precipitation will turn to showers Tuesday afternoon and end Tuesday night.
Wednesday through next weekend a high pressure ridge will be along the coast. Skies will be clear, temperatures will warm to above normal. Periods of gusty north winds are expected.
