This morning a low pressure area and frontal system are pushing into the Pacific Northwest with the southern end laying over Northern California.  Today and Sunday will be cloudy with scattered light showers.  Snow levels will be 5000 feet north and higher south.

Late Sunday a fairly strong storm system will be approaching the coast.  This system will move across Northern California Monday (see map below).  Rain, locally heavy at times, Monday with snow levels staring high but lowering to 3000 to 4000 feet by afternoon.  South winds begin to increase late Sunday.  Monday very strong southerly winds are expected with gusts to 50 mph in the north end of the valley and 65 mph over the higher elevations.

The precipitation end Monday night and Tuesday will be partly cloudy.  The next low pressure trough will bring rain to the north state Wednesday with snow levels 2500 to 3000 feet north and 5000 feet south in the Tahoe area.  This system will be east of our area by early Thursday.

Thursday afternoon through the weekend a weak high pressure ridge will be over California. Skies will be partly to mostly sunny except for night and morning valley fog.
