Weather Discussion for Saturday Dec. 12, 2020

 Normal high/ low temperatures for Dec 7-Dec 14  (high/low) Redding 55/36, Chico 56/36, Quincy 47/26, Chester 43/22, Susanville 43/22, Grass Valley 53/33, Weaverville 48/29, Mt. Shasta 43/26, Yreka 45/25, Alturas 44/18

  
This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring.

The first frontal system was weaker than expected and moved though last night.  Today we will se partly cloudy skies with a few isolated showers over the mountains.  The next frontal system is approaching the coast and will bring rain to Northern California Sunday.  Snow levels will be 4000 to 5000 feet.  Gusty south winds will precede the front.  

Monday and part of Tuesday skies will be partly to mostly clear with near normal temperatures.  The next low pressure trough will spread clouds over the north state late Tuesday with rain over the entire area Wednesday (see map below).  Snow levels will be near 4000 feet.  

Skies clear out Thursday with partly to mostly sunny skies Friday through the weekend.
