This morning's satellite picture, below, shows the low pressure area is off the coast and is generating bands of clouds and rain. The low is moving eastward and will move across Northern California later today and tonight. Expect periods of rain today, locally heavy at times. Snow levels will be 5000 to 6000 feet. Gusty south to southwest will will occur at times. The precipitation will turn to showers tonight. Thursday there will be some lingering showers over the mountains that will end by late afternoon.
Friday through the midpart of next week the jetstream , storm track, will shift back north of our area. Friday and Saturday will be sunny with above normal temperatures with light to moderate north winds. There will some clouds Sunday as a low pressure trough passes by to our north (see map below). This system cloud bring a few showers to the far north end of the state.
Monday through Wednesday look sunny with above normal temperatures.
