Sunny today with near normal temperatures, then cold again tonight with freezing temperatures in some parts of the north valley. Clouds begin to increase Thursday as the low pressure area currently developing in the Gulf of Alaska pushes eastward (see map below). Rain will occur over Northern California Friday with the snow level near 5000 feet. Strong and gusty south winds are expected Friday. Saturday skies begin to clear as the storm moves eastward. Sunday there will be partly cloudy skies from Redding northward as a frontal system pushes through the Pacific Northwest. There could be a few showers north of Mt. Shasta.
Monday and Tuesday look partly sunny with a few clouds. Temperatures will be a few degrees above normal. Late Tuesday and Wednesday another storm system will bring rain to the north state.
