This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

Today and Tuesday the inland areas of Northern California will be mostly clear with temperatures slightly above normal.  Winds will be light becoming south to southwest in the afternoon.  Wednesday the high pressure area that dominates our weather will weaken as a low pressure trough moves through Canada.  This will allow temperatures to cool a few degrees.  There will also be a chance of isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms Wednesday over the areas north of Redding.  Light moderate southwest winds will occur Wednesday afternoon.

Thursday through at least the weekend high pressure will be over the western U.S. (see map below).  Skies will be clear and temperatures will warm to 3 to 6 degrees above normal by the weekend. Winds will continue relatively light.
