This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

High pressure is over the western U.S.  Today should be sunny with temperatures a few degrees above normal and light winds.  A low pressure trough is developing in the Gulf of Alaska and will drop southeastward and move across Northern California on Friday (see map below).  Thursday temperatures will be cooler with increasing clouds and south winds in the afternoon.  Partly cloudy to cloudy skies and scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Friday.  Saturday the trough will be moving eastward.  There could be a few showers early Saturday over the higher elevations east of the valley but overall skies will be clearing.

Sunday through next week high pressure will be over our area.  Temperatures will back to near normal by Monday and remain normal to slightly above normal through the week.
