This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

The off shore low pressure has continued to drop southward and is is off the Southern California coast while high pressure is over the western U.S.  Today and Thursday we will see mostly sunny skies with temperatures about 10 degrees above normal.  Winds will be light.

Friday the high will weaken as a low pressure trough approaches the coast.  This trough will move across Northern California Saturday and early Sunday (see map below).  Friday will be cooler with a few afternoon clouds and increased south winds in the afternoon.  This system has limited moisture but will bring partly cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms over the foothills and mountains Saturday with isolated activity in the north end of the valley.  Temperatures will be below normal Saturday with gusty south winds in the afternoon.  Sunday there will be a few showers over the areas north and east of the valley with partly to mostly sunny skies elsewhere.

Monday and Tuesday we will see sunny skies with warmer temperatrues.  Wednesday through the end of the week looks sunny with above normal temperatures.
