This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

This morning's satellite picture (below) shows a low pressure area off the coast.  The low is moving eastward and will cross Northern California later today and Sunday.  This system has limited moisture but will bring a few showers and thunderstorms to the foothills and mountains later today and Sunday.  There is a chance of an isolated light shower in the north end of the valley.  Temperatures today and Sunday will be 10 to 15 degrees below normal.  Gusty northwest to north winds will occur this afternoon and Sunday.

Monday through Thursday a weak high pressure ridge will be over California.  Skies will be mostly clear.  Temperatures will be back above normal by Tuesday and winds will be light.

Friday and Saturday another weak low pressure trough will move through our area (see map below).  This system  will bring a chance of showers and thunderstorms to the higher elevations and will cool temperatures back below normal.
