This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

A high pressure ridge is along and over the west coast and will hold there through early Sunday.  During this time Northern California will be sunny with a few high clouds.  Temperatures today will be normal or a little above.  Thursday through Saturday temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees above normal with some cooling Sunday.  Gusty north winds will occur through midday Friday.

Sunday the high pressure will begin to weaken and by Monday afternoon a low pressure area will be moving onshore (see map below).  This low will bring showers and possible thunderstorms to the north state Monday afternoon through Tuesday with some lingering mountain showers Wednesday. Temperatures will drop to below normal and gusty south to southwest winds will occur Monday and Tuesday afternoons.
