This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

High pressure is still over the west coast but is beginning to weaken.  Today will be sunny with some high clouds and slightly cooler temperatures.  South winds will increase in the afternoon.  The high will continue to weaken Sunday and we will see partly sunny skies with more mid and high clouds.  Temperatures will cool several degrees.  Gusty south winds will occur in the afternoon.

Monday a low pressure trough will move closer to the coast and will be along the north coast Tuesday (see map below).  Clouds will increase Monday with showers and possible thunderstorms Monday afternoon through Tuesday.  Temperatures will cool to below normal and gusty south to southwest winds will occur Monday afternoon and Tuesday.

Wednesday the low will still be along the coast but will be weakening.  The north state will be partly cloudy with showers and thunderstorms over the foothills and mountains with the chance of showers in the valley.  Temperatures continue below normal with gusty south to southwest winds.  Thursday there will continue to be a few showers over the higher elevations with partly sunny skies in the valley.

Partly to mostly sunny Friday and little warmer...but temperatures will still be below normal.   Saturday afternoon another low pressure area reaches the coast and this will bring more showers to north state late Saturday through Monday.
