This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

A weak low pressure trough and frontal system are approaching the coast.  This system will move across Northern California later today and early Sunday.  The system will bring showers to the foothills and mountains as it moves through with a chance of a shower in the north end of the valley.  The showers will end in most areas by tonight.  Sunday there will still be isolated showers over the Sierra/Cascade area but the rest of the north state should be partly to mostly sunny.

Monday and Tuesday the high pressure ridge will begin to push northward along the west coast. Monday will be mostly sunny.  Tuesday there will be a few clouds from Redding northward.  Temperatures will be near normal.  Winds will be light.

Wednesday through next weekend a high pressure ridge will be along the west coast (see map below).  We will see clear skies with temperatures 5 to 10 degrees above normal.  Gusty north winds will occur Wednesday through Friday.
