This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

This morning's satellite picture (below) shows a well defined low pressure area off the coast.  This low is moving eastward and will be over California on Monday (see map below).  Periods of rain or showers, with isolated thunderstorms, will move into Northern California later today and tonight.  The precipitation will continue through late Monday afternoon.  Gusty south to southwest winds will occur this afternoon and Sunday.

There will still be some isolated showers Tuesdey over the higher elevations north and east of the valley with partly sunny skies elsewhere.  Temperatures will be warming but still below normal.

Wednesday through next weekend a weak high pressure ridge will be off the coast.  The north state will be mostly sunny with a few mid and high clouds at times.  Temperatures will be a few degrees above normal by Thursday and hold there through the weekend.  Winds will be light.
