This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

This morning's satellite picture (below) shows the low pressure area moving inland over Southern California.  This low continues to have quite a bit of moisture and clouds with it.  Yesterday it pushed the clouds northward to about Redding and today the cloudiness will be about as far north as the Bay Area and Lake Tahoe. the rest of Northern California will have sunny skies today with temperatures a little above normal.  Gusty north winds will occur in some areas.

Thursday through the start of next week a high pressure ridge will be along and just off the coast (see map below).   The north state will be partly to mostly sunny with some clouds at times from fronts riding by to our north and east.  Temperatures will be 8 to 12 degrees above normal with periods of gusty north winds.

The models still show a weak low pressure area moving across Northern California next Wednesday or Thursday.
