This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

This morning's satellite picture below shows a weak low pressure area off the coast and moving slowly eastward.  Ahead of the low quite a bit of high cloudiness has been pulled northward over California.  The low will bring a chance of isolated showers over the higher elevations late today and early Thursday.  Skies clear out during the day Thursday and Friday looks mostly sunny.  Temperatures Thursday and Friday will be near normal and locally gusty south to southwest winds will occur this afternoon.

Saturday the jetstream begins moving southward and this allows a weak low pressure trough to move across the north state late Saturday and early Sunday (see map below).  This system will bring light showers mainly to the foothills and mountains Saturday afternoon through early Sunday.  There is a chance of a shower in the north end of the valley. Temperatures will cool to several degrees below normal by Sunday.  Gusty southwest to northwest winds will occur Saturday afternoon and Sunday.

Monday we will see partly to mostly sunny skies with near normal temperatures.  Tuesday the high pressure ridge is back over the coast and Tuesday through the end of the week looks clear with warmer temperatures.  Gusty north winds will occur Tuesday through early Thursday.
