This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

This morning a low pressure area and frontal system are moving into western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.  The southern end of this system will bring some mid and high clouds to Northern California.  Temperatures will be near normal with light winds.

Sunday through Tuesday high pressure will be over California with frontal systems passing by to our north.  Skies will be partly to mostly sunny with a few clouds at times.  Temperatures will slowly warm and by Tuesday will be 10 to 15 degrees above normal.  Winds will be light.

Wednesday the high weakens and this allows the jetstream to move southward over the north end of the state.  A weak low pressure trough will move through late Wednesday followed by another system Friday afternoon and Saturday (see map below).  The Wednesday system will bring light showers to the foothills and mountains with the chance of an isolated shower in the valley, the Friday/Saturday system will be a little stronger with a better chance of rain in the valley.
