A low pressure area is developing just off the Northern California coast. This low will remain off the coast through Sunday and then drop slowly southward. Today and Sunday Northern California will see periods of rain. Snow levels will be near 5000 feet. Gusty south winds will occur at times today and Sunday. Monday the foothills and mountains will have showers with the snow level 4000 to 5000 feet. The valley may see an isolated shower in the morning with party sunny skies by midday.
Tuesday through next weekend high pressure will be along and just off the west coast (see map below). The north state will be sunny. Temperatures will warm to around 10 degrees above normal by Thursday and hold there through the weekend. Gusty north winds are expected Tuesday through Thursday.
