Weather Discussion for Monday April 20, 2020

This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

A weak upper level low pressure area will move across Central California today.  This system will bring some clouds to our area with scattered light showers over the foothills and mountains with a chance of an isolated shower in the valley.  Light to moderate south to southeast winds will occur. 

Tuesday high pressure will begin pushing northward over the west coast.   We will see partly to mostly sunny skies and near normal temperatures and light winds.  

Wednesday a frontal system will be riding over the high and passing by to our north.  This system will bring clouds to the north end of the state with isolated showers possible near the Oregon border.  The rest of the north state will see partly to mostly sunny skies with temperatures normal or a few degrees above. 

Thursday through early next week the high pressure ridge will be over the west coast (see map below).  Skies will be clear with daytime temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above normal by the weekend,
