This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

High pressure is off the coast.  Today through Wednesday Northern California will see sunny skies, above normal temperatures and occasional gusty north winds.

It still looks like a low pressure area will break off the jetstream and form a closed low pressure area.  However, now it looks like the low will be further off the coast as it drops southward (see map below).  Northern California will see some clouds with isolated light showers over the higher elevations Thursday and Friday.  The valley will be partly to mostly sunny with temperatures continuing above normal.

Late Saturday through early Monday another closed or cut off type low will move across the north state with scattered light showers.

It seems like we are seeing a lot of these cutoff or closed low dropping south along the coast this spring.
