As has been the case for the last 6 weeks high pressure is off the coast.  Today through midday Friday Northern California will see clear skies.  Daytime temperatures will be 10 to 15 degrees above normal today and Thursday and then a little cooler on Friday.  Winds will be light today with gusty north winds in some areas Thursday.

Friday afternoon a low pressure area will be dropping southward along the Canadian Coast.  However, unlike the past lows this system will back off to the west and sit off the Northern California coast Saturday and Sunday (see map below).  Clouds will increase Friday with rain Friday night and Saturday an then showers on Sunday.  Snow levels will drop to 3000 to 3500 feet by midday Saturday.   Gusty south to southwest to northwest winds will occur late Friday and Saturday.

The low will be east of our area by Monday afternoon.  Skies will be clearing and gusty north winds will move into the area.  Tuesday through Thursday look sunny with temperatures back to normal or a little above.
