This morning's satellite picture (below) shows a low pressure area well off the California coast. This low is sending bands of clouds and showers across Central and Southern California. The low will move slowly eastward and pass across Southern California late Sunday. Today and Sunday there will be some afternoon clouds over the mountains with isolated showers. The valley will remain mostly sunny. Temperatures will be a few degrees above normal and winds will be light.
Late Monday a low pressure trough will be approaching the coast. This system will move slowly across Northern California late Tuesday and Wednesday (see map below) Clouds will increase late Sunday and Monday with rain Monday afternoon and Tuesday and then showers Wednesday. Snow levels will start off 3000 to 4000 feet but drop to 2000 to 3000 feet Tuesday and Wednesday. Gusty south to southwest winds will occur Monday afternoon and Tuesday.
The showers will end Wednesday night. Thursday through the weekend look partly to mostly sunny with normal temperatures and light wind. The next storm will move into the area Monday or Tuesday (30th and 31st)The Old Forecaster
