This morning's satellite picture (below) shows a frontal system now moving through Northern California.  The offshore frontal system is splitting apart and the southern portion will end up as a low pressure area off the Southern California coast (see map below).  This low will move slowly eastward and across the southern half of California Tuesday.

Today the north state will be partly cloudy to cloudy with light rain or showers.  The snow level will be near 4000 feet.  Sunday and Monday we will see bands of clouds moving northward from the off shore low.  There will be isolated showers with the snow level remaining near 4000 feet.

Tuesday through early Friday skies will be clear with temperatures a little above normal.  Gusty north winds will occur in some areas Tuesday.

Friday afternoon another low pressure area will drop southward along the Canadian coast and across Northern California.  This system will bring some clouds and scattered showers to our area late Friday through midday Sunday.
