This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

HIgh pressure is back along the coast.  Today through Thursday we will see mostly clear skies with above normal temperatures.  Gusty north winds will continue through Tuesday.

Friday a low pressure trough will be approaching the coast (see map 1 below).  This system will move through Friday afternoon and Saturday with light showers over the foothills and mountains with the chance of an isolated shower in the valley.  The snow level will drop to 3500 to 4000 feet Saturday.  Gusty south to southwest winds will precede this storm.

The next low pressure trough will split apart and form a closed low pressure area well off the coast (see map 2 below).  This splitting of the jetstream will keep the north state dry with a few clouds from the off shore low.   The longer range models show the off shore low finally approaching the coast around the 11th or 12th of March.
