The low pressure area is now off the California coast and moving slowly southeastward. The low will continue to send bands of clouds and rain across Northern California today and Tuesday. Snow levels will be 2000 to 3000 feet and then rise a little on Tuesday. Light to moderate southeast to southwest winds will occur.
Wednesday there will still be isolated showers over the foothills and mountains with party cloudy to partly sunny skies in the valley. Temperatures will be below normal. Thursday the valley will be sunny with a few clouds over the Sierras.
Friday afternoon the next low pressure area will be dropping southward along the coast. This system should move across Northern California late Saturday (see map below). Rain is expected Friday afternoon and Saturday turning to showers Saturday evening. The snow level will be near 4000 feet. Gusty south winds are expected Friday afternoon and Saturday.
Sunday will be party cloud to partly sunny. The next low pressure area will move through the area late Sunday and Monday and should bring more rain Sunday evening through Tuesday afternoon. Snow levels will continue near 4000 feet.
