This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

This morning's satellite picture (below) shows a low pressure area dropping southward just off the Oregon coast.  This low will continue southward and will end up over Southern California by Sunday afternoon.  The low will bring clouds to Northern California today with a few light showers in the mountains later today and early Sunday.  Skies will be clear over most of the north state by Sunday morning or early afternoon.  Temperatures today will be near normal and a little below normal on Sunday.  Gusty north winds will move into our area today and continue through Sunday.

Monday through Wednesday will be sunny with above normal  temperatures.  Gusty north winds will end early Wednesday.

Thursday a low pressure trough will be approaching the coast (see map below).  Clouds will increase Thursday afternoon.  This system will bring light rain to the foothills and mountains, Friday through midday Saturday with a few light showers possible in the valley.  Snow levels will start out high but drop to 4000 feet by Friday afternoon and then a little lower on Saturday.   Gusty southwest winds will occur late Thursday with the winds shifting to the north by Saturday.

Sunday and Monday look partly to mostly sunny with warmer temperatures.
