Not much change in our weather pattern for the next 7 to 10 days. A high pressure ridge is off the coast. The jetstream is moving over the ridge and then dropping southward along the Canadian coast and then into the Great Basin. Systems riding along this flow pattern will not have much moisture with them but will bring colder air into Northern California as they pass through.
The low that went through late Saturday and Sunday is now to our east. Today through Saturday the north state will be mostly sunny. Temperatures will start to warm....although wind sheltered areas of the north valley cold see freezing temperatures tonight. Daytime temperatures will be back to 5-10 degrees above normal by midweek and should hold there through Saturday. Gusty north winds will occur in some areas through Tuesday afternoon. with light winds Wednesday through Friday.
Late Saturday the next low pressure area will be dropping southward along the Canadian coast (see map below). This system will bring a isolated showers to the higher elevations late Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will be back below normal by Sunday. Gusty southwest to northwest winds will occur Saturday with gusty north winds Sunday. Monday skies will clear with gusty north winds.
