This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

Not much change through Wednesday.   High pressure will remain along the coast and we will have mostly sunny skies with a few high clouds.  Temperatures will be above normal with gusty north winds in some areas today and light winds Tuesday and Wednesday.

It still looks like the frontal system that will approach the coast late Tuesday and Wednesday will split apart.  The question is how close to the coast will it get before it splits and after it splits how far south will the cutoff low drift before it is pulled back northeastward.  It now looks like the low will be pulled east to northeast late Thursday (see map below) and pass across Central California Friday.  This would bring some clouds to the north state Thursday afternoon through Friday with a few showers over the higher elevations.

Skies will be clear Saturday and temperature be above normal with light to moderate north winds.  Sunday afternoon and Monday another low pressure trough will drop southward and brush the state.  Look for a few clouds and maybe a mountain shower with this system.
