This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

This morning's satellite picture (below) shows high pressure is beginning to build off the coast and this is forcing low pressure areas and frontal systems into Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest.  Today and Thursday Northern California will see some mid and high cloudiness from these systems.  Temperatures will be a little above normal and winds will be light.  Friday should be mostly sunny with temperatures 8 to 12 degrees above normal.

Saturday the high will move a little back to the west.   This will allow a low pressure trough to drop southeastward across the Pacific Northwest and into the Great Basin late Saturday and Sunday (see map below).  There will be a few clouds late Saturday and Sunday with isolated showers over the higher elevations north and east of the valley.  Temperatures will cool and will be a few degrees below normal by Sunday.  Gusty southwest to northwest winds will occur Sunday.

Monday through the end of the week high pressure will be just off the coast.  Skies will be mostly clear.  Temperatures should be back to normal by midweek.  Gusty north to northeast winds will occur Monday and Tuesday.
