A very weak frontal system will move across the area today with isolated showers over the north coast and areas north of Redding. The rest of the north state will see few clouds. Temperatures will continue below normal. Sunday through midday Monday there will be clouds over the far north end of the state with partly sunny skies elsewhere. Temperatures will continue a few degrees below normal with light winds.
Late Monday a low pressure trough will approach the coast and this system will move across Northern California Tuesday (see map below). Rain will spread over the area Monday night and early Tuesday and will end Tuesday night. Snow levels will be around 4000 feet north and 5000 to 5500 south. Gusty south winds will occur early Tuesday.
Wednesday through Saturday there will some clouds over the mountains with partly to mostly sunny skies elsewhere.
More rain is expected Sunday and Monday as another low pressure trough moves through.
