Weather Discussion for Monday Jan 13, 2020

This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

The next weak frontal system is now approaching the coast (see satellite picture below).  This system will bring light rain and showers to the area later today and tonight with snow levels 2500 to 3500 feet north and 4000 feet south.  Tuesday will be partly cloudy to partly sunny with showers mainly over the higher elevations.

Wednesday a strong and colder low pressure area will be nearing the coast (see map below).  This system will bring rain to the area Wednesday with showers on Thursday.  Snow levels will be 2000 feet north and 3000 to 3500 feet south.  Strong gusty south winds will occur Wednesday. 

The showers end late Thursday and Friday will be partly sunny.   Saturday a weak low pressure trough will be move through the area with scattered light showers.  Snow levels will be 2000 feet north and higher south.

Sunday we will have partly sunny skies with clouds over the mountains and then Monday afternoon another weak frontal system will move into the area.
