This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

This morning's satellite picture (below) shows a low pressure area off the coast.  This low is moving southward and will be move inland over Southern California Thursday.  The low will bring scattered light showers to Northern California today.  Snow levels will be 3000 to 3500 feet.

Thursday through Saturday high pressure will be along the coast.  The north state will be mostly clear with near normal temperatures.  Gusty north winds will occur Thursday and early Friday.

Sunday a low pressure trough will move across Northern California (see map below) and then form a low pressure area over Nevada and Utah.  Sunday we will see a few showers over the areas north and east of the valley with a few clouds elsewhere.  Monday through Wednesday the area will be mostly sunny with clouds along and east of the Sierra Cascade Crest.  Temperatures will be below normal and strong and gusty north to northeast winds will occur.
