This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

The low pressure area and frontal system showed in the Gulf of Alaska on this morning's satellite picture (below) will move to  the Canadian coast and them drop southward.  The low will be off the Northern California coast Sunday (see map below)  and will bring light rain or showers to Northern California on Sunday.  Snow levels will be 3000 to 4000 feet.

Skies will clear late Sunday and early Monday as the low heads toward Southern California.  Monday and Tuesday skies will be sunny.  Temperatures will be near normal but there will be strong and gusty north to northeast winds.

Late Wednesday and Thursday a weak low pressure trough and frontal system will brush the north end of the state.  This system could bring some clouds and isolated light showers to the north coast and areas north of Redding.

Late Thursday through early Saturday look mostly clear with normal or slightly above temperatures.  Another weak frontal could brush the area Saturday night and Sunday.
