Weather Discussion for Saturday Dec. 21, 2019

Normal high/ low temperatures for Dec-16-Dec 23  (high/low) Redding 56/35, Chico 54/35, Quincy 45/24, Chester 41/20, Susanville 41/22, Grass Valley 52/31, Weaverville 46/28, Mt. Shasta 42/23, Yreka 44/25, Alturas 43/17
This blog will be issued every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday morning and updated if the weather is changing or critical or interesting weather events are occurring

The off shore low is moving a little slower than was earlier forecast.   Today Northern California will be cloudy. Rain will move into the area tonight and continue through Sunday.   Snow levels will be 4000 feet north and a little higher south.  Gusty south winds will occur in some areas. 

Monday and Tuesday the north state will see partly cloudy to partly sunny skies with near normal temperatures.

Late Tuesday the next low pressure area will be approaching the coast (see map below).  This system will bring rain to the area late Tuesday through early Thursday.  Snow levels will be 3000 feet north and 4000 feet south.

Thursday afternoon through Saturday we will see mostly sunny skies.
