Later today a low pressure area will reach the Canadian coast and then drop southward.  The low will pass across Northern California Tuesday morning and then end up over Southern California Tuesday night through Thursday morning.  Clouds will increase today and there could be a few light showers over the areas north of Redding and along and east of the Sierra Cascade Crest tonight and early Tuesday.  Skies will clear Tuesday afternoon with mostly clear skies through Thursday.  Temperatures today will be 10 to 15 degrees above normal but will cool through Thursday.  Southwest will increase this afternoon.   Tuesday afternoon through midday Thursday strong and gust northeast winds will occur across much of the north state.

Friday the low will have moved east and high pressure will rebuild along the coast and hold through through the weekend (see map below). Skies will be clear.  Temperatures will be near normal Thursday and then warm through the weekend. Winds will be light.
