High pressure is firmly entrenched along the west coast.  Today and Tuesday look sunny with some high cloudiness.  The high will weaken a little late Wednesday and Thursday as a low pressure trough moves through the Pacific Northwest. This trough will bring increased mid and high clouds to our area with light showers possible on the north coast.   After the trough passes high pressure rebounds along the coast (see map below).  This means continued sunny skies.  Temperatures will be 15 to  20 degrees above normal today but will cool slowly during the week.  Winds will be light for the next week.

  1. Continue to love your posts/analysis- thank you for this effort over the years.

Any more indications from the medium to long range models that the high pressure will weaken later in the month?

  2. Just wondering if we are going back into a drought. I sure hope not.
