A low pressure trough is now moving through the Pacific Northwest and Northern California.  This system will bring light rain or showers to the mountains and foothills today with isolated light showers in the north end of the valley.  Sunday the trough will be moving eastward.  There will be a few lingering showers over the north coast and areas north of Redding.  The rest of the north state will be partly to mostly sunny and warmer.  Light to moderate northwest winds will occur Sunday.

Late Sunday high pressure begins to build along the west coast.  Monday through the next 10 days a strong high pressure ridge will be along the west coast (see map below).  Northern California will be mostly clear with temperatures 10 to 15 degrees above normal.  Light to moderate north winds will occur Monday and Tuesday with strong and gusty north to northeast winds Wednesday through Friday.
